CHIEF KIA AND HIS AMIABLE VICE CHAIRMAN VISITS COMMUNITIES RAVAGED BY FLOOD IN SOUTHERN IJAW LGA.
The Executive Chairman of Southern Ijaw LGA Chief (Hon.) Kia Ebidoughebofa Nigeria and his Amiable Vice Chairman Hon Evang Parkins Ogede and other Local Government Council officials went on a flood assessment tour to some communities in Southern Ijaw LGA.
Chief Kia, who lamented the devastating effect of flood on the people and communities, said his administration will always be there for the people and will always visit to empathise and sympathise with them.
Chief Kia called on the State agencies, particularly the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), to come to the aid of the people of Southern LGA.
He stated that reports will be sent to the State Government so as, palliatives will be sent to victims of the disaster as a temporary measure.
He emphasised the need for a lasting solution to the annual flooding challenge particularly in Southern Ijaw LGA were all communities have submerged by water, rendering them homeless.
Communities visited were:
Eniwari, Emete, Opuama, Polobubou, Ekowe, Tugo-ama, Akama-ama, Oporoma, Nangiama and Angiama.
