Civil Defence Officer Arrested For Supplying Røckets, Ammunitiøn, Drùgs To Zamfara Bandits

A Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer, ASC Maikano Sarkin-Tasha, has been arrested for allegedly supplying anti-aircraft rockets, AK-47 ammunition, and narcotics to bandits operating in Zamfara State.
The arrest was made public by the Nigerian police on Thursday.
Sarkin-Tasha, who confessed to the crime, admitted to being involved in the illegal trade for two years, revealing that he was introduced to the arms supply business by a fellow NSCDC officer.
“I was arrested on my way to supply ammunition and assortment of drugs, intoxicants to bandits. I got the supply from a fellow civil defence officer and a rank mate, Aminu Musa,” he said during his confession.
“I was first introduced to the arms supply two years ago,” Sarkin-Tasha added.
In a parade held in Gusau, Zamfara’s capital, Commissioner of Police Shehu Muhammad Dalijan also presented other suspects, including Mamuda Sani Makakari, a quack doctor accused of treating terrorists, who was caught with 441 live rounds of ammunition.
Tthe police also paraded the wives of two notorious bandits, Kachalla Jiji and Bello Kaura, both arrested with two children each.
