COL. DIKIO WILL CHANGE THE NARRATIVE AND ALSO HELP TO REPOSITION THE PRESIDENTIAL AMNESTY PROGRAMME– Ikuli
TRACKING______Niger Delta Nonviolent Agitators Forum has appealed for peace, patience and understanding as the new Amnesty Boss prepares to resume.
The National President of Niger Delta Nonviolent Agitators Forum has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari once again for the appointment of Col. Milland Dixon Dikio an illustrious son of the Ijaw nation as Sole Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Abuja the nation’s capital, he used the opportunity to appeal to Niger Deltans particularly stakeholders, delegates and other beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme to be calm and patience as they await the formal resumption of the PAP Boss.
The appeal became necessary due to unease in some quarters who are querying the delay of the new Coordinator’s resumption three weeks after his appointment.
Comrade Ikuli took time to explain the fact that Col. Dikio was in the United America (US) as at the time of his appointment and due to the ban on international travels/flights because of the attendant challenges posed by the dreaded Corona Virus (Covid-19). The ban was only lifted on Saturday 5th September, 2020 which is about two weeks ago.
But beyond the ban on international flights, is the federal government and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocol on Mandatory Quarantine for international travelers for fourteen (14) days.
Speaking further, Comrade Ikuli said “we should thank Almighty God and President Muhammadu Buhari for two things; the appointment of an outstanding Ijaw son Col. Milland Dixon Dikio and secondly, for his safe arrival in preparation to resume duty due to his undying passion for service to our fatherland.
He went further to reaffirm his total confidence in Col. Dikio’s ability to reposition the Amnesty Programme to achieving the rudiments behind the programme.
He reiterated that his confidence is premised on the track record of the new Amnesty Boss who was an outstanding professional military officer who served the Nigerian Army diligently in various capacities before his voluntary retirement to run very successful private businesses in the United States of America.
