Committee Commends Nigerian Police Support
The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan has applauded the Inspector General of Police, AIG Usman Alkali for the overwhelming support the body has been receiving from the police leadership.
He acknowledged this when he payed a courtesy visits to senior Police officers in Zone 10, Sokoto State Command and the AIG in charge of elections in the zone, AIG Bello Dalijan.
This according to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant Media and Publicity, Office of the National Chairman, Comrade Kunle Sodipo was in continuation of the Chairman’s special visits and presentation of Ramadan packages from the National Headquarters of the Police Community Relations Committee to the Muslim community, Police officers and partners.
Addressing the AIG, the National Chairman roled out some of the achievements of the PCRC under his leadership which he attributed to the consolidation moves on the foundation layed by the immediate past National Chairman, Ambassador Farouk Maiyama.
He also acknowledged the support being reviewed from the Police and likened it to the 39 years support that the organisation has received since its establishment in 1984 by late IGP Etim Inyang.
In his response, AIG Bello Dalijan commended the wonderful efforts of the PCRC which he said was visible, clear and unambiguous for every good citizens of the country to see.
“Myself and other senior Police officers who have been monitoring with keen interests the activities of PCRC nationwide are happy with the level at which the current leadership is operating,” he said.
The Zone 10 senior Police officer urged the National Chairman and his team to keep up the good work and continue to be that strong and reliable bridge between the Nigeria Police and the Community for every good reasons.
The Chairman was accompanied to the Seat of the Caliphates by Asst National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Dagara, Chairman PCRC Zone 10, Alhaji Mijinyawa Bello, Vice Chairman PCRC Sokoto State, Alhaji Abubakar Umar, Deputy Secretary Sokoto State, Comrd Muhammad Umar Sanyinna and the PCRC Sokoto State Youth Wing.
The Zone 10 Police Command was established in December 2002 and located in the North-West Geo-political Zone of Nigeria.
It comprises of Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara State commands. The Zone has a total land mass of about 336,355 square kilometers with its headquarters in Sokoto.
Kebbi State which is known as the “Land of Equity,” has a land mass of 36,800 square kilometers covering 21 Local Government Areas with its capital in Birni Kebbi; Sokoto State, known as “Seat of the Caliphate”, has a land mass of 25,973 square kilometers, covering 22 Local Government Areas with its capital in Sokoto, while Zamfara State, known as “Farming is our Pride” has a land mass of 39,762 square kilometers, covering 15 Local Government Areas with its capital in Guasau.
