community of Ondo is tense over Akeredolu’s order to detain the king

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
There is unrest in the Irele village in the Ondo State local government area of Irele because the community’s youth have promised to thwart any efforts by law enforcement or other security forces to detain Oba Ademola Idowu Oloworiyibi, the Olofun of Irele.
Five years after the death of their previous king, the kids said that the entire village was still pleased to have a ruler.
In a letter addressed to the state’s chief prosecutor, Oyediran Oyeyemi, and signed by the governor’s chief of staff, Olugbenga Ale, the governor requested that Oba Idowu be detained and brought to justice.
Due to the fact that his administration had not recognized or installed anyone as the ruler of Irele, Akeredolu claimed that Oba Oloworiyibi was a forger.
Even though Oba Oloworiyibi was crowned last month, some people petitioned the state administration, claiming that the kingship issue was still pending in court.
The installation of Oba Ademola, according to Akeredolu, could lead to discontent among the peaceful residents of the ancient town, and the effects are more easily foreseen.
Oba Ademola disregarded established regulations and processes, according to Mr. Akinwunmi Sowore, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs for Ondo.
“The man in Ireland had not followed our procedure at the Ministry,” he said. He will be formally chosen according to the procedure. The State Executive Council will be notified of the outcome for approval. He shall receive the staff of office and the instrument of office from the government. The Ministry will provide any person who becomes an Oba these major powers.
A violation of the Chiefs Laws of Ondo State has been committed if anybody claims to be an oba but has not received all of these.
A prince from the Oyenusi Ruling House of the Irele Kingdom, Prince Olujimi Adekanle Lijoka, claimed that his father was the final king of Irele.
“My father is a member of the Oyenusi royal family. My father’s predecessor came from the reigning house of Jagboju. The fact that the current king is from Orunbemekun balances everything out.
“When my father was king, some of our family members argued that since our father was a woman’s son, we weren’t supposed to produce the monarch. They stated that they are paternity related. When my father was already the king, they did it. One man was installed, but he bolted. Instead of other clans, the Oyenusi family is the center of the issue. They assert that the case is in court, but we asserted that it is closed because the Oyenusi, through my father, have fulfilled their obligation.
After five years, “the kingmakers decided it was about time the town had a king. The Orunbemekun royal family was invited by the kingmakers to provide a candidate. The participants decided that Ademola ought to rule as king. Ademola successfully completed each step. The procedure to become king required him to spend nine days alone inside the shrine.
Speaking through his personal assistant, Ode Adewale, Oba Ademola stated that it is not customary in Ireland to notify the government in writing when choosing a king.
There is currently no arrest, he declared. Nobody has arrived to detain the king. With the government, we’re attempting to resolve the issue.
SP Fumilayo Odunlami, a spokesman for the Ondo Police, stated that Oba Ademola had not yet been taken into custody.
She claimed that the police have started the procedure in order to make the arrest.
