Contractors Commented For Display of High Professionalism

TRACKING_____Contractors handling the NDDC (Niger Delta Development Commission) flood mitigation project at Agudama Ekpetiama has been commended for display of professionalism and high quality of work carried out on the project.

The Hon.commissioner for Environment; Engr. Udengs Eradiri gave the commendation during a project inspection tour to the project site on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Agudama-Ekpetiama in Bayelsa State. The environment commissioner advised Bayelsans to be disciplined in handling activities that affect the environment they live in and also help in their little ways to control the menace of flooding in the state adding that, individuals should stop building structures on drain lines. He warned against the deliberate blocking natural channels meant for water to flow through ,as such would be demolished by the Ministry as it has starting mappings on existing channels in Yenagoa and it’s environs. Engr. Udengs, assured Bayelsans that the ministry of environment would always take as priority all activities to mitigate flooding in the state adding that these activities have already been incorporated into the Budget of the year 2020.

Mr. Jiachi Eustace of Poted Tech Nigeria Limited, a contractor with NDDC in charge of the project assured Bayelsan that it would do a thorough job so that when the job is completed it will indeed avert the problems of flooding.

Also speaking, Ini Moses, Surveyor: Project Monitoring Directorate; NDDC, Bayelsa state office disclosed that the project is meant to clear up and desilt water ways in the state to mitigate the problems of flooding, saying that when completed, such communities will be free from issues of flooding.
