Corruption in PTI, as PENGASSAN accuses Mgt of embezzling over 600 million Naira

TRACKING_____The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, Petroleum Institute PTI branch, Effurun, Delta State have accused the management of the institute of embezzling over 600 million Naira from the PTI account.
While revealing this by the chairman PENGASSAN PTI branch, Prince Audu Oshiokhamele on Tuesday December 10, 2019 during a protest embarked upon by the union said staff were promoted they didn’t get their promotion arrears, gave 28 days, 14 days and 7 days notices to PTI management all to no avail.
Prince Oshiokhamele stated further that there is massive fraud and corruption playing out in PTI, noting that the management withdraw monies recklessly from the school account, withdrew 286 million Naira to settle Delta Board of Internal revenue which was deceit as well as contract racketeering.
The PTI PENGASSAN branch accused the Director of Finance and Account of the Institute, Mr. Mafindi Aliu M, for using his personal account to launder funds out from the PTI account for his personal gains, alleging that they do not have any fear against EFCC, ICPC and HoS that they are their boys and can’t do them anything.
He disclosed that they have written to EFCC, ICPC and others waiting for their response and action hence they have embarked upon protest in the institute in order for those in authority to investigate and take appropriate actions immediately to salvage the situation.
Some of their demands include: Presidential panel setup to carry out forensic audit of PTI account from 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 in order to reposition PTI, the immediate sacking of the Principal of the Institute, Prof. Sunny Iyuke and appointment of qualified manpower into the institute not man no man friendship appointments.
PTI PENGASSAN labour leadership also quipped that most of the fraud committed is through contract award which they can proof their allegations leveled against the management of the institute with facts.
Other issues was also centred on NHIS illegal deduction from workers salaries without remitting it to the agency as well as lack of remittances to PENCOM and using of dead and retired staff names to embezzle funds.
They appealed to Federal Minister of Education, Minister of Petroleum State and Head of Service of the Federation to immediately intervene before PTI get crumbled by the present management.
