TRACKING_____Former Senator who represented the Kogi West Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye has asked the Federal Government to publish a report from the investigation on the former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.

Recall that the EFCC boss was arrested by the Department of State Services on July 6 2020 over alleged diversion of recovered funds.

The FG subsequently instituted a Presidential Panel of Inquiry chaired by Justice Ayo Salami to investigate the allegations of financial misconduct against the embattled EFCC boss, Magu.

Senator Dino Melaye, in a Twitter video on Thursday demanded that the report from the investigation be made known to Nigerians.

He asked that the embattled former acting Chairman of the commission be prosecuted if he is indicted.

He said: “It is absurd and ridiculous that the Federal Government will suspend the former acting Chairman of the EFCC, Magu over misconduct and financial misappropriation, the same FG set up a high power panel to investigate the alleged crime.

“Unfortunately, till this minute, the report of that panel is not known to Nigerians and has not been officially released to the public.

“We don’t know if Magu was indicted by that report or vindicated by the panel.

“It is laughable that a government that claims to be fighting corruption is in herself, emerged in corruption.

“Why will you investigate a corruption fighter and we cannot be told what is contained in the report?

“Nigerians deserve to be told the outcome of that investigation.

On behalf of Nigerians, I make a demand that the report of the panel be made public, if he is indicted, he should be prosecuted.

“However, if he was vindicated, the FG should apologize to him.
