The Lagos State High Court in Ikorodu has barred Jamiu Shittu from claiming to be the Head of the Regun Family of Ikorodu, Lagos.
The order was granted by trial judge Justice Adeniyi Pokanu, who noted that it would be in effect until the outcome of a suit filed by two claimants, Kameeel Dada and Gbenga Oshin.
The first and second defendants in the suit IKD/87380CM/2022 are the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotebi, and Shittu.
The claimants asked the court, via their counsel, Yemi Okewoye, to prevent the first defendant from deposing the first claimant as Head of the Regun Family and Regun of Ikorodu.
They had also asked that the second defendant be prohibited from presenting himself as the Head of the Regun Family of Ikorodu.”
While dismissing the defendants’ preliminary objection, Justice Pokanu granted the injunction prayers.
