After Collecting Money From His Family, We Took Baba To A Forest And Shot Him There – Suspect

The Police Operatives in Ogun State have confirmed the arrest of two suspected kidnappers responsible for the Killing of a 71-year-old man who is a father of five in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State. One of the arrested suspect identified as Chukwuma Bathlomeu has alleged that after receiving the ransom from the elderly man family, he was taken to a forest and shot at around 4 am by his friend, Ifeanyi Benjamin, who has since fled and remains untraceable.

Despite his involvement in the kidnapping act, he expressed ignorance about the total ransom amount collected from the victim’s family, revealing that he received only N300,000 after the operation. He stated that his role in the operations was to accompany the gang to the locations where they would abduct their victims.

He said in an interview with Channels TV from 5:34, ”I was introduced into the kidnapping business by one of my friend who was living her in Ijebu Igbo. My job here is managing a find pond business but that my brother relocated back to Ebonyi state and came back about two years ago. He initiated me into this kidnapping business. My role in the kidnapping business is to accompany them to the place where they will kidnap the victims.

When we kidnapped baba, we led him into the bush and started asking for ransom. Our gang leader told the family that if they delay to pay the money, they will kill the man. After collecting money from his family, we took baba to a forest and shot him there at around 4 An in morning. The person who shot him was that my brother who is bearing the name Ifeanyi Benjamin, he has ran away and I don’t know where he is right now. I was only given N300,000 but I don’t know how much they collected from the family.”…
