EFCC declares man wanted over alleged $400,000 fraud months after unsuccessful search for Yahaya Bello
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Babatunde Adesioye wanted in connection with an alleged $400,000 fraud.
In a public notice shared on its verified Facebook page on Thursday, the anti-graft agency announced that Adesioye is wanted for alleged stealing by conversion and obtaining money by false pretence.
According to the EFCC, Adesioye, 47, was last known to reside at Ikeja, and Magodo, Lagos State.
The commission urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact any of its offices located in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja.
This development, though not connected, follows the EFCC’s earlier efforts to apprehend former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, who was also declared wanted for alleged fraud during his tenure as governor.
Despite several months passing, the EFCC has yet to locate or arrest Bello, raising concerns over the agency’s ability to track down high-profile suspects
