Police arrest 3 brothers over terrorism in Imo

Police authorities in Imo State have arrested seven suspects over an “attempted terrorist attack” in the Oguta council area of the state.
The spokesman of the command, Mr Henry Okoye who confirmed this development said they were taken into custody at Sabbath Mission Church in Nkwesi Oguta LGA where Temple Igwe, a suspected ESN commander, was planning terrorist attacks.
Okoye said three of the suspects — Okechukwu Olumba, Arinze Olumba, and Olumba Chukwuebuka — are brothers from Isu LGA of the state.
Other suspects paraded include Bernard Okorie from Mgbele in Oguta LGA, Emmanuel Okechukwu from Mbaitoli LGA and Ewurum Chigozie from Amandugba in Isu LGA.
The police also arrested 62-year-old Chukwudifu Anele from Awa in Oguta LGA for his alleged involvement in terrorism.
The command image maker said two pump action guns, one single barrel gun, two locally made pistols, twenty-five rounds of live cartridges, various denominations of Biafran currencies, one live tortoise, one live crocodile and various criminal charms were recovered from the suspects.
He said the suspects made statements that would help arrest other members of the gang.
“They have all made important confessional statements that will aid the police apprehend their fleeing gang members”, he said
