Police Officer Arrested For Stealing Tiles
The Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Aminu Alhassan has confirmed that two police officers, Vincent Ayade and Okoi Otu, have been arrested for theft.
The policemen reportedly stole 64 cartons of tiles from the Canadian University in Obudu, which is the hometown of Governor Ben Ayade.
In a statement signed by the PRO of the state police command, the commissioner stated that investigations into the matter was ongoing as the men were undergoing an orderly room trial.
“The policemen were also undergoing an orderly room trial.
“The trial is as stipulated in the Police Act and Regulation.
“The duo have abused and defiled their rule of engagement as well as the extant laws of the land.”
The statement also Indicated that four more suspects connected with the said crime will be arraigned in court soon.
Meanwhile, three men have been arrested by the Gombe State Police with a fresh human head.
The police paraded the suspects yesterday, Yale Saleh (27), Baba Muhammadu (24) and Aminu Salisu (22), all of Dinawa village in Kwami Local Government Area, March 30.
The police revealed that the suspects who were caught on Wednesday, March 30 were paraded at the command’s headquarters over criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of body part.
