Sokoto Police Arrest Interstate Tricycle Thieves Syndicate

Four suspected tricycle thieves have been arrested at Kasuwar Kanawa and Rijiyar Shehu areas of Sokoto metropolis.
They are Aliyu Shehu, aged 24, Ahmad Muhammad, aged 23, Umar Usman Muhammad, aged 23 and Yahaya Abubakar, aged 27 all male and of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area in Kebbi State.
They were on June 24, 2024, at about 2200hrs, arrested by Sokoto State Police Command’s Strike Force, led by Inspector Murtala Garba (Zico) along Kasuwar Kanawa and Rijiyar Shehu Area Sokoto.

They were arrested for stealing yellow-coloured TVC tricycle which were recovered from them.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Rufai Ahmad said upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to having been engaged in the criminal act of stealing in Birnin kebbi and Sokoto State for some tine. They further confessed to having stolen the recovered tricycle from where it was parked on June 23, 2024, they also confessed to have Stolen two Tricycles, Five Motorcycles and GSM phones in Birnin kebbi and mentioned one Usman, Abdul, Abdullahi Dan Malam, Abdul Dan Karya all Male and First Lady of Kamba LGA of Kebbi State and Malam Sani Male of Zamfara and one Shehi Male of Sokoto state now at large as their recievers.
The police said the suspects will be arraigned and prosecuted once investigations are concluded
