Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has issued a warning about planned attacks by terrorists from the Islamic State in West Africa Province on residents of the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja (ISWAP).
According to Tracknews, the National Security and Civil Defense Commission (NSCDC) revealed this in a letter titled “Security Alert: Renewed Threat Of Attack By ISWAP Terrorist On Targets Within The FCT” with Ref: No;NSCDC/CMDT/FCT/INT/VOL.X/188, in which they revealed that the attack on Kuje Correctional Centre was carried out to free some of their fighters who would carry out the attack on Christians.

The letter was addressed to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration by FCT Commandant Peter Maigari (FCTA).

“Certified intelligence reveals that members of the decimated terrorist group Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) have concluded plans to launch more coordinated and spontaneous attacks on selected targets within the federal Capital Territory (FCT) and have declared war on Christians in Nigeria,” according to the letter.

According to the statement, “Intelligence indicates that the ISWAP terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack on the Kuje medium security detention center on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, and has released their adherent members.”

“The goal is for them to hibernate in targeted communities (FCT) and re-strategize for future terrorist activities, particularly on soft targets, in order to keep the group’s agenda alive in the public eye.”

“Comment: Considering the recent terrorist attack on Kuje medium security custodial center for more than two hours without any security resistance, indicated their readiness to carry out more coordinated attacks in selected cities/towns, security formations, schools, and worship centers in FCT, thus freeing their members for more formidable squad to carry out their heinous act.”

“In light of this, it is recommended that countermeasures be implemented, and that existing security measures surrounding such targets and other sensitive facilities with security formations be reviewed in FCT to thwart the planned attack.”

“I have submitted this report for your review and consideration, sir.”
