Cross River Lawmaker, Elizabeth Ironbar Is Dead

The lawmaker representing the Akpabuyo constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Elizabeth Edem Ironbar is dead.
It was gathered that the lawmaker died in the early hours of Wednesday (today) after a protracted illness.
Ironbar before her death had represented her constituency since 2015 and failed to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress following the defection of the state governor, Ben Ayade to the APC.
The deceased who is known for her Disability Commission bill in the Cross River State Assembly is the second member of the ninth Assembly to die.
The first lawmaker who died in the assembly was a member of the PDP who represented the Obudu constituency, Godwin Akwaji.
Akwaji died in June 2020.
In another development, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has stated that he is ready to back former Vice President Atiku Abubakar if he is given the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket in 2023.
Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, the PDP convention planning committee chairman stated that Atiku has the “intelligence” to win the 2023 election
