Dangote, Others Donate To Naval Officers’ Wives’ N15bn Hospital

A renowned businessman and chairman of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and other business moguls in the country have boosted the fundraising of N15billion for a 200-bedded capacity hospital initiated by Navy Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA).
Daily Trust on Sunday reports that Nigeria’s First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, had on Monday formally laid a foundation for the hospital, stressing that the project is particularly meant for women and children of navy officers and others from rural communities.
Other business moguls from the oil and gas sector, construction, bank chief executive officers, among others, also donated to the project.
Speaking in Abuja at the fundraising event, the national president of the NOWA, Hajiya Nana-Aisha Gambo, reaffirmed the armed forces officers’ wives’ commitment to providing access to affordable health care to women and children.
She said, “It has become imperative to embark on such a project as a way of direct intervention in accessing medical services to the NOWA family, women and children in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the country in general.”
