Datti-Baba Ahmed Speaks About Labour Party Benefiting From EndSARS Protest

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Senator Yusuf Datti-Baba Ahmed, Vice Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has denied any suggestion that the party benefited from the EndSARS protest.
Datti-Baba Ahmed, speaking on Thursday, stated that it is completely incorrect to claim that the protest is benefiting the party.
According to him, the party has always been on the side of the people and in support of good governance, but has not benefited directly from the protest.
He went on to say that while using the word massacre to describe the events of the original EndSARS protest in 2020 is debatable, it is unfortunate that Nigerians were attacked.
According to Track News, he clarified during an interview with Politics Today on Channels TV.
“It’s a very heavy statement to make, saying that our party, the Labour Party, is a beneficiary of EndSARS,” he said. While we are always on the side of the people and good governance, we are opposed to attrition, repression, and other forms of oppression.
“You could put it another way, but we are not direct beneficiaries of EndSARS.” The term “massacre” is highly debatable. EndSARS was never something we wanted to happen. We have never had any Nigerians attacked. As a result, we are not pleased to hear that we are EndSARS beneficiaries.
“A peaceful Nigeria benefits us.” That is what we gain from. We benefit from advancement and development. We are committed to correcting all errors in governance.”
