Deal Agreed: Man United reach £54.8m
TRACKING_____Manchester United have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to reports.
Fernandes has been on the transfer radar of Manchester United since last summer but disagreements over his price tag has stalled his moved.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mike Phelan had scouted the mesmeric midfielder this month and after making an offer, it was knocked back by the Portuguese club.
United are desperate to reinforce their midfield but they do not intend to pay overboard to sign any player.
But now, According to A Bola, as translated by TMFC, the good news is that the signing is close after Man United advanced and reached an agreement to the tune of (£54.8million) 65 million euros (55 million euros fixed and 10 million euros in add-ons) to sign the Seleccao star.
United were beaten by Burnley in the Premier League at Old Trafford only yesterday night – their defeat highlighted the need for new players, particularly in the midfield and attack.
Fernandes is adept at retaining ball possession and distributing the ball. He’d bring to United the much needed creativity they have lacked since the fall of Juan Mata, who has surpassed the twilight of his career.
