Deal decisively with terrorists, desist from acts of cowardice – GOC tasks frontline troops

Troops of 26 Task Force Brigade have been charged to remain dogged and deal decisively with the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists within their area of operations.
A statement issued by the Army headquarters indicated that the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Waidi Shaibu, gave the charge on Sunday while on an operational visit to assess the combat readiness of frontline troops deployed in the Gwoza general area, Borno State.
Maj. Gen. Shaibu also tasked the frontline troops to remain courageous, disciplined and professional in routing the remnants of terrorists while urging them to eschew all acts inimical to actualising their operational mandate.
The Sector 1 Commander warned the troops that acts of indiscipline and cowardice would not be condoned, hence urging them to desist from substance abuse and be contented with their pay.
He changed them to maintain an offensive posture and remain vigilant.
The Army General equally emphasised that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign was by no means over
