DESOPADEC: We will adopt a downward top approach – Agediga
TRACKING >>Executive Director for Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Amb. Shedrack Agediga has noted that the commision will adopt a downward top approach in its dealings with the people.
The multiple award winning Niger Delta leader, Agediga made the revelation yesterday at his office in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC in Warri South Local Government Area during a courtesy visit by media, youth groups and Niger Delta rights groups.
The PRS ED had noted that the commision is ready to work to deliver lasting legacies for its mandate areas, stressing that DESOPADEC will also empower youths in various areas.
Speaking further on the commission’s readiness to deliver uncomon leadership to the oil bearing and impacted communities in Delta State, Agediga had asserted that DESOPADEC will apply the down to top approach which will be a deviation from what was happening to the commision before now.
He had particularly assured the various groups that the commision will largely work with the recommendations of communities and not the other way round, stressing that they have seen how projects that will no impact on a community had been sited in some communities in the state.
However, the youth friendly Agediga had maintained that the commision is gathering statistics on some projects undertaken by previous boards, explaining that such is necessary to avoid wastage and to get a more clear picture of the working environment.
Meanwhile, the various groups had commended Agediga on his stance for good governance, stressing that the youths are happy with him and his leadership style.
They had however appealed to him to continue to be good to humanity, stressing that he is a special politician in the Niger Delta.
