The Governor directed the provision of potable water, sand filling of the market and provision of more security measures to be taken to ensure the safety of lives and properties of traders.

While speaking to the traders and residents of the area, who surged to see him, he asked them: “Do you people like the way this area is dirty. We are not dirty and mad people who live in an unhygienic environment”. They answered “no”.

Governor Diri asked for cooperation with Government officials who will be sent to area enforce cleanliness of the area.

Diri, therefore, announced a two-month grace for to owners of illegal structures in all markets in the state capital to remove their properties in order to avoid the wrath of bulldozers.
