Dismissed Police Inspector Arrested Over N200,000 Fraud

The Edo State Police Command has apprehended a dismissed police officer identified as John Terso for impersonation and fraud.
The suspect who was dismissed from the police force in 2019 was presenting himself as an Assistant Superintendent of Police and a tracker with IRT department.
Terso was also accused of defrauding one Saliu Gideon Olauntoba of N180,000 and one Gloria Aziengbe of N20,000.
The suspect had enlisted into the force in the year 2000, trained in Police College, Kaduna, and rose to the rank of an Inspector, but he was dismissed from the force on February 13, 2019 for professional misconduct.
Meanwhile, the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Aminu Alhassan has confirmed that two police officers, Vincent Ayade and Okoi Otu, have been arrested for theft.
The policemen reportedly stole 64 cartons of tiles from the Canadian University in Obudu, which is the hometown of Governor Ben Ayade.
In a statement signed by the PRO of the state police command, the commissioner stated that investigations into the matter was ongoing as the men were undergoing an orderly room trial. Read more
