DJ Swithch; the young Ghanaian who thrilled African leaders at AU summit in Ethiopia

DJ Switch is a 10-year-old Ghanaian Disc Jockey

She has gained international stardom due her excellence at what she does She is the youngest person to win Ghana’s annual DJ award.

Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh is a ten-year-old Ghanaian who goes by the showbiz name DJ switch.

The young Disc Jockey, on Sunday showed how talented she is at the UN headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where she jammed with African leaders.

Her set was mounted on the sidelines of the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

She played different genres of African music ranging from Afro-pop to Arabian music.

DJ Switch who wants to be a gynaecologist when she grows up, said she chose the name because she changes the mood of people.

“I came up with the name DJ Switch because when I was a kid I was switching up the mood of people. When you’re sad I’ll make you happy, when you’re happy and you want to be more excited, I’ll make you excited,” she says.

She learned how to DJ about a year ago in a village in the Western Region. A DJ at a local bar in the village taught her how to use a laptop.

She rose to international stardom through her feisty attitude, online music videos and total cuteness.

In June this year, Erica became the youngest person to win Ghana’s annual DJ award. Three months later, she opened the Bill and Melinda Gates’ Foundation’s annual Goalkeepers event in New York, as the warmup act to French President Emmanuel Macron.
