Drama as former house of assembly member slaps PDP youth in Aniocha south.
There was a mild drama between the former House of Assembly member representing Aniocha south State Constituency, in Delta State, Austine Chikezie and a Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), stakeholder, simply identified as Mr. Abaja.
Trouble started on Saturday at the Ejeme residence of the former embattled lawmaker in Aniocha south local government area of the state.
Chikezie, a crusader of equity in the local government area, ahead of the chairmanship and councilorship elections, was captured in a viral video, assaulting the PDP stakeholder while in his compound for the primary of the party to elect a councilorship candidate for Ejeme Ward 8.
In the video, making the rounds on the internet, Austine Chikezie, who is the chairman, Board of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), could be heard asking the PDP youth to leave his compound after slapping him.
The assaulted PDP member and others who were miffed in the video, were prevented from retaliating.
Apparently, the party stakeholders including the one slapped, were against imposition of a candidate on the ward which seemed not to sit well with the ward 8 leader, Chikezie.
In the viral video, Austine Chikezie, was seen, walking towards the irate youth before landing him a dirty slap.
In the viral video, Chikezie, pulled off his footwear and was set for a fisticuff but later went back to wear his sanders after the Ejeme-Aniogor slap.
Also in the video, Chikezie, was heard saying, “leave my house”, repeatedly before and after the slap but was opposed by some angry PDP youths before he picked up his cellphone for a phone call.
Some of the youths asked Chikezie, “why you dey slap am”?. One of the youths in the video said: “Hon. Chikezie, dey slap person, a PDP member.
“We say no to imposition and you cannot give us anybody that is not from Ejeme.
“Don’t give us Agbor man, we are not from Agbor. Chikezie, slapped a PDP stakeholder, on what ground? He asked.
Continuing, he said: “you want to impose somebody that Ejeme people do not want, you want to impose him on our people.
“And Okowa, told you that you should not segregate and you are segregating. You as a leader in a ward in Ejeme, you are slapping a PDP stakeholder”.
One of the youths who was miffed, and was asking repeatedly why Chikezie slapped the PDP youth stakeholder, said: “okay now, sebi e don set now, oya call police, we are ready”.
It took the efforts of three youths to calm the situation down.
Meanwhile, social media users have expressed outrage at the action of Chikezie, who was filmed during the assault.
While some expressed disappointment at Chikezie’s action, others said he was not fit to be a leader.
