Durbar ’22: Excitement In Ilorin As AbdulRasaq Joins Emir

Ilorin was full of glee as sons and daughters including Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, gathered to celebrate the Durbar.

Our correspondent says this marks a new turn since the outbreak of the global pandemic pestilence named COVID-19.

Taking place Emir of Ilorin Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the event witnessed a large crowd of sons and daughters of the town — many of them on horseback and several others donning different shades of turban and wears that capture their Islamic socio-cultural credentials.

Track News Nigeria gathered that he arrived the at the august occasion on horseback, cladded in white turban and flowing Arabo-Islamic garb to match.

Being a son to the metropolitan’s first Mutawali and younger brother to the incumbent holder of the revered title Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq, he was accompanied by the new Mutawali, who is a mega lead member of the Ilorin Emirate royal court.

In his address, Governor AbdulRasaq wished well the Emir and the people of Ilorin on the memorable event and offered that God grant all and sundry many happy returns of the Durbar.
