Dutse market a disaster waiting to happen – FCTA

By Adeleye Kunle
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has condemned the illegal activities of Business Managers and traders at Dutse Modern Market.
Ikharo Attah, Senior Special Assistant to FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement said the market was a disaster waiting to happen.
The minister’s aide led a clean up exercise at the market and other parts of Dutse on Monday, Track News reports.
Attah decried the high level of illegal activities within the market, strategically located in Bwari Area Council.
The official accused market managers of alteration and defacement of the market’s original plan.
He said urgent steps had to be taken to restore sanity to avoid a situation that could lead to the loss of lives and properties.
His words, ”Dutse market is a disaster waiting to happen. The place has become badly choked up. The walkway and car parks are blocked and turned into a selling point.”
Attah disclosed that the team members agreed to propose to the minister a one month closure to enable clean up
