Edo APC crisis: Tinubu meets Okpebholo, Idahosa, others in Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu on Monday met with the leadership of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which had the party’s candidate for the upcoming governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon Dennis Idahosa, in attendance, was aimed at ironing out some disagreements.
Although details of discussions in the meeting were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, a source at the meeting said one of the resolutions was for the running mate, Idahosa, to withdraw his protest litigation against the candidature of Okpebholo.

Recall that the primary election that eventually produced Okpebholo as a candidate initially ran into controversy as Idahosa was first declared by Governor Hope Uzodimma-led committee.
The first round of primary elections was declared inconclusive by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, owing to a number of irregularities.
Among those at the meeting, which was held in the President’s office, were the National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje; Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole; and Senator Matthew Urhoghide, former representative of Edo South in the Senate, among others.
