Edo Election: LP debunks viral letter of Olumide Akpata stepping down.

The Labour Party has debunked a letter making the rounds on social media purporting that its candidate for the Saturday gubernatorial election in Edo State, Olumide Akpata has stepped down.
The letter sighted by TrackNews Media alleged that Akpata stepped down for the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Asue Ighodalo.
However, when contacted by TrackNews Media , the Edo State Chairman of the Labour Party, Kelly Ogbaloi, described the letter as fake.
According to him, “We cannot step down at this time. No, that’s not happening.
The letter was forged and we have debunked it already. LP candidates cannot at this time issue a letter that he is withdrawing from the race. We cannot resign. Akpata is very much in the race.
