EFCC Arrests Nigerian Man Chidiebere On FBI Wanted List

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested one Emmanuel Dike Chidiebere who is wanted for conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering.
TrackNews understands he was arrested by EFCC operatives from the Enugu Zonal Command.
The arrested Chidiebere has been on the wanted list of the American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) before he was tracked to Orlu in Imo State by EFCC operatives on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, where he was subsequently arrested.
The suspect is alleged to have defrauded some victims in America, Cote D’Ivoire, and Poland of some undisclosed amount of money before he went into hiding.
According to EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, three of Chidiebere’s accomplices are still at large.
Meanwhile, Debest Osarumwense, the mother of an internet fraudster, was on Tuesday sentenced to five years in prison by Justice M. S. Shuaibu of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City.
The accused was arraigned on a one count charge of aiding her son to receive the sum of N91,296,150 (Ninety One Million, Two Hundred and Ninety Six Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Naira) which are proceeds from his fraud business.
