The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, August 8, donated a property forfeited by Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, the late chief of defence staff, to the North East Development Commission (NEDC).

The building, which is to serve as the headquarters of NEDC in Abuja, is located on No. 6, Ogun River Street, Maitama.

The property was handed over to NERC by Mohammed Umar, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s director of operations.

On his part, Mohammed Alkali, NERC’s managing director, said that the commission will utilise the property for its effectiveness.

Meanwhile, Tracknews.ng reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos had ordered that Professor Maurice Iwu be remanded in the custody of the EFCC.

Iwu was to remain in EFCC’s custody till Friday, August 9, till when his application for bail will be heard, although he has pleaded not guilty to all the charges made against him.

Iwu arrived a Federal High Court in Lagos to be arraigned by the anti-graft agency over N1.2billion fraud.
