Adeleye Kunle Reports
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, has announced that it has recovered an additional one billion, four hundred million naira (N1.4 billion) for the National Health Insurance Scheme, or NHIS, TrackNews reports.
According to the commission’s official Twitter handle, the money was part of the funds that some commercial banks ‘fraudulently’ refused to transmit to the Treasury Single Account, TSA, since 2015.
The money has been released to the NHIS since August 5, 2022, according to the statement.
It was also revealed that the Commission had released N1.5 billion to the scheme in a similar manner on February 10, 2022.
