The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been accused by the family of the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha of failing to interrogate Okorocha twenty-four hours after he was arrested.

TrackNews had earlier reported that the residence of the presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress was invaded by operatives of the anti-graft agency.

EFCC while giving the reason for arresting Okorocha claimed that the lawmaker representing Imo West Senatorial district jumped administrative bail earlier granted him.

Okorocha’s daughter, Uloma Nwosu in an interview with Punch on Wednesday night said the EFCC had not shown it was in a hurry to interrogate him.

She further stated that the arrest of her father might not be unconnected to the plan to stop him from participating in the presidential screening and primary of the APC.

Uloma said, “since his arrest, no official of the EFCC has spoken to him, he has not been interrogated, despite the desperation to arrest him. Everyone saw how they invaded his home, shooting as if they were arresting a terrorist. After several hours of the showdown, damaging the doors and some other properties in the house, they whisked him away.

“There was also heavy shooting as policemen attached to the Commission tried to chase away family members and supporters of the serving senator. With all these, he has not been questioned 24 hours after.

“We appreciate Nigerians for their support. Although my dad is in high spirit, it is, however, now obvious that the EFCC intends to keep him until after the APC primary, but we are relying on the judiciary to proffer justice as the last hope of the common man.”
