Ekiti Assembly has declared 7 days mourning following the death of the Speaker.

In memory of the late Speaker, Mr Funminiyi Afuye, the Ekiti State House of Assembly has declared a seven-day mourning period.
Mrs. Yemisi Ayokunle, chairman of the House Committee on Media, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti that the flag in the Assembly complex would be flown at half mast during the period.
Mrs. Ayokunle, who described the late Speaker as an embodiment of courage, excellence, and a man deeply committed to public service, said Mr. Afuye will be greatly missed.
The Speaker died on Wednesday evening at the age of 66 at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, according to the statement.
