Ekweremadu: South-East Governors are attacked by Oganiru Enugu,

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Governors from the South-East have come under fire for what some claim is a lack of concern regarding the British government’s ongoing incarceration of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.
According to TrackNews Nigeria, Ekweremadu has been imprisoned as a result of a London court’s ruling after being accused of allegedly harvesting organs.
Engr. Jude Asogwa, the president of Ndi Oganiru Enugu State, requested an urgent meeting of the South-East Governors to discuss Ekweremadu’s future during a press conference in Enugu on Thursday.
He also exhorted other South Easterners to wake up and realize how hard Ekweremadu had been working for the Igbo cause.
We find it puzzling that they have not yet summoned an urgent meeting of the South-East Governors’ Forum and the South-East stakeholders to discuss how to ask the federal government to release an esteemed son and Igbo Senator.
“With all due respect, checking on the family is insufficient; they must confront the situation head-on.
Asogwa said, “We call to all South-East sons and daughters to wake up and recognize that Ikeoha have been defending the cause of Igbo Nation.”
In addition, he urged the Attorney General of the Federation to take same action the government took in the case of a Nigerian woman who was detained for a drug-related offense.
“We also urge ECOWAS to urgently request that the UK release His Excellency Prof. Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, the organization’s former Speaker. Since it is becoming more evident that he is being imprisoned in the UK against his will.
We were surprised to learn that the UK government had passed a new organ donation law after His Excellency Prof. Sen Ike Ekweremadu wrote to your government through your embassy. It is expected that you either refuse the visa or advise him on how to do it correctly in accordance with your new rule.
“It’s even more perplexing that after giving David a visa, you later detained Prof. Ike Ekweremadu after he arrived in the UK. Did you not intend to advise him or deny his visa?
“We discovered that David reported to the police on his own, therefore we inquired as to who drove him there. We question who is using David against Prof. Sen. Ekweremadu because it is abundantly clear that there is more to the whole situation. David is also requesting from the Federal Government through his attorney not to release his data to Sen. Ike Ekweremadu for defense.
There have been rumors that the UK government has been pressured to keep Prof. Sen Ike Ekweremadu in office until after the 2023 elections, or even to have him killed, if necessary.
“We expected the federal government to even request the transfer of the case to Nigeria through the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Attorney General of the federation.
The Nigerian government, South-East governors, stakeholders, and all of Africa, he begged, “ought to wake up and save one of their own.”
