Election: Peter Obi opens up on ‘alliance’ with Atiku, PDP

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party on Monday said there is no partnership between his party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
TrackNews reports that both the Labour Party and the PDP are legally challenging the outcome of the 2023 election which produced Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the president-elect.
Although, the two parties held a joint-press conference against the alleged flawed process of the poll supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obi said they are pursuing justice separately. Atiku Abubakar is the presidential candidate of the PDP.
“There’s no partnership between Labour Party and the PDP. Both of us are only challenging a process that is wrong. That is acceptable. We are all challenging it because we are all participants.
“That is why we want to check the process. It’s now the process that will say who had the highest number of votes in the said election. What is important is who received the highest number of the rightful votes cast and who has the spread.
“What we are claiming now is because of the confusion that was deliberately created by INEC. If they had done the right thing, we won’t be here. Nobody will be arguing,” Obi told Arise News.
