Election: Peter Obi Shut The Door Against Tinubu In South-East By Playing The Ethnic Card – Onanuga

It is no longer news that we have just few days to the May 29 inauguration where the President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn in as President of Nigeria. The Director of Media and Publicity for the dissolved All Progressive Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga has reacted to the aftermath of the 2023 Presidential Election during an interview with Punch paper.The interviewer asked him if Tinubu was just fortunate to be aided by some factors which gave him victory. Replying the question, Bayo Onanuga said the hand of God was seen in Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 Presidential Election, and that in his view, he thinks Tinubu’s track record fetched him many votes across the country, except in South-East where he said Peter Obi shut the door against Tinubu by playing the ethnic card.In his words, he said in parts:“In my view, I think Tinubu’s track record fetched him many votes, except in the South-East where Peter Obi shut the door against him, by playing the ethnic card.”
