Election results: Atiku emerges winner in Kaduna

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has emerged the winner of last Saturday’s election in Kaduna State.
PDP won in 14 local government areas, Labour Party, 7, while the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won only two local government areas.
Professor Muhammad Zayyan Umar, the returning officer, while announcing the final results collated and declared by INEC at the state collation centre explained that Atiku polled 554,360 votes, while Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC polled 399,293 votes.
According to him, Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate polled 294,494 votes, while Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 92,962 votes.
He stated that out of the 4.3 million registered voters, 1. 4 million were accredited for the election in Kaduna.
