Election tampering is over in 2023, according to INEC

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, has vowed to preserve Nigerians’ right to vote in the upcoming general elections, declaring that the days of blatant election result tampering are ended.
At the introduction of Yiaga Africa’s Election Result Analysis Dashboard, or ERAD, Report on Electronic Transmission of Results in the 2022 Ekiti and Osun Governorship Election in Abuja on Friday, INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu made the commitment.
Mahmood claimed that INEC had put in a lot of effort to increase transparency and boost Nigerians’ trust in the handling of election results.
“I can state with certainty that the era of willful manipulation of election results is over.
“Yet, we are not resting on our laurels because we are aware that there are many evil individuals out there trying to undermine the system, and we must always be one step ahead of them. Nevertheless, we stand for electoral justice.
“We will make sure that Nigerians’ votes are preserved and the only factor in determining who gets to hold office in our democracy,” he declared.
He continued by saying that the commission would be using significantly more ad hoc workers than both the police and the military combined for the general election in 2023.
