Elon Musk’s Bold Demand: U.S. Should Exit NATO, Says Tesla CEO

Elon Musk, a senior adviser to former United States President Donald Trump, has expressed his support for the US exiting the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He made this statement in a post on his X social media platform on Sunday.
Musk argued that it does not make sense for the United States to pay for the defense of Europe. He was responding to a post on X that asserted, “The US should exit NATO now!” In agreement, Musk, who is the co-founder and CEO of Tesla Inc., stated, “We really should. It doesn’t make sense for America to pay for the defense of Europe.”
Just last week, Musk concurred with a suggestion from a conservative commentator that the US should leave both NATO and the United Nations. His comments come at a time when the future of NATO, which will celebrate its 76th anniversary in April, is uncertain.
