Emefiele, Lamido to Headline Islamic Finance Discourse
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, His Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Co-founder of GTBank, Fola Adeola, will lead other eminent personalities to the fifth National Discourse organised by The Companion, an association of Muslim men in business and the professions.
The event scheduled to hold on Sunday at J.F Ade-Ajayi (Main auditorium), University of Lagos, Akoka has Professor AbdurRazzaq Abdul Majeed Alaro of the University of Ilorin as guest speaker. Alaro will speak on the theme: “Islamic Finance Experiment in Nigeria: Gains, Challenges and Prospects”.
Head of Media Committee, Bello Ozugha, said the topic would ascertain the benefits and challenges facing the growth of Islamic banking in the country.
According to him, Islamic finance has become a significant source of financing in Nigeria. On the sidelines, Ozugha said participants would be eligible for free medical check-up on hepatitis, eye screening and free eyeglasses for those required.
