Activities in the palace of Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has reduced to its lowest state following the creation of four more emirates by Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano state.
The Nation reports that the emir returned from lesser Hajj on Sunday, May 12 and was received by thousands of supporters who followed his convoy to his palace.
It was reported that since his arrival, activities have reduced with only few visitors coming around.
A palace guard who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the Emir has chosen to be keep to himself since his return and has only attended to few visitors.
He said: “His Highness has remained speechless since he returned from Saudi Arabia. He only attends to few visitors. So many journalists have come here to interview him, but he politely declined from granting any interview. He has always remained indoors. In fact, there was a crucial meeting with all his Council members Monday, but I cannot tell you the outcome because all of them left the Palace without saying a word immediately after the meeting. This creation of additional Emirates has seriously affected activities in the Palace and I can confirm to you that the Emir is not comfortable with what happened.”
The palace guard added that the greater percentages of the Palace guards have left Kano to other Emirates, particularly Bichi where Emir Aminu Ado Bayero is heading”
“You are aware that the Emir of Bichi is an amiable and easy-going king with the antecedent of his late father. So many palace guards prefer working with him because he is an open minded person.”
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, alleged that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje is being used by some people to destabilise the northern region.
In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng’s regional reporter in Kaduna, Nasir Dambatta, at his residence in Zaria, Suleiman alleged that the ugly scenes from Kano are symptoms of the plots calculated to undermine the political and economic viability of the entire north, beginning with the northwest.
