EPL: Arteta needs a world-class center-back, Ex-Arsenal captain Gallas drops update

By Adeleye Kunle
Former Arsenal captain William Gallas believes the club’s defense needs to be strengthened, Track News reports.
Gallas believes they gave up too many goals last season.
“I think they need to get one centre-back, a top, world-class centre-back because it’s very important to have a player with a lot of experience at the back,” he told Genting Casino. Someone who can command the defensive line.
‘Unfortunately, Arsenal conceded some goals last season; I was watching the games and noticed the centre-backs were a little too young and inexperienced.’
“You need one experienced defender who can control the defensive line and communicate with his players, who can communicate with the other center-back and full-backs.”
“People forget about that and believe that having two good young centre-backs will suffice, but that is not the case.” I don’t think it will work out because they make some mistakes. That was unfortunate for them, and they lost some games as a result.”
