EPL: He’s great, our best player – Mohamed Salah hails Liverpool’s new hero after 2-0 win

Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah has hailed his teammate, Stefan Bajcetic, describing the midfielder as the Reds’ ‘best player’ following a man of the match display in their 2-0 win over Everton on Monday night.

Liverpool beat hard-fighting Everton in the derby, with goals from Mohamed Salah and January signing Cody Gakpo. It was Salah’s first Anfield goal of 2023.

Bajcetic’s performances this season have represented one of the few uplifting aspects of Liverpool’s poor run of form as the teenage Spaniard was outstanding again at the heart of his side’s engine room.

Salah told reporters after the game, “He’s a great player and person, he always tries to work hard. Since he started playing for us, he has been our best player, so hopefully he keeps that confidence and keeps going.”

Responding to Salah’s praise, the teenager said: “Mo Salah is probably one of the best players ever in Liverpool history so it is nice to hear a legend say that to me.”
