EPL: Referee Chris Kavanagh accused of helping Arsenal beat Bournemouth

Sports pundits, Richard Keys and Andy Gray have questioned the referee in Arsenal’s 3-2 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

They feel that the referee deliberately allotted more time to allow the Gunners to score the late winner.

Arsenal should not have had the opportunity to snatch a dramatic winner if the referee had not extended the allotted injury-time.

The Gunners appeared set to drop at least two points after Bournemouth stunned them at the Emirates Stadium by taking a 2-0 lead.

But Arsenal came back through Thomas Partey, Ben White and Reiss Nelson’s dramatic 97th-minute winner.

Sports broadcaster, Keys questioned why Arsenal had the opportunity to score in the 97th minute after only six minutes were added on for injury-time.

“I would ask about the time of the goal as 97 minutes had been played. I think Bournemouth will have reason to think, ‘where did you find that time?’ The referee will have a reason.

Andy Gray added: “There were six minutes added on, you can see that in the top corner, and we were just approaching the 98th minute when Reiss Nelson scored.”
