Leaders and beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) across the Niger Delta region, have commended the Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for his political will in resolving persistent issues affecting beneficiaries.

The national chairman of PAP Phase 2, Ibena Rufus Salvations, who spoke at a stakeholders meeting held over the weekend at KFT Event Center in Warri, Delta State, expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing Otuaro, adding that many of the issues have persisted for so many years before the current Administrator.

According to Ibena, all stakeholders across the region who were fully represented including the first, second and third phases of the programme, had convened to appreciate the administrator for his political volition and leadership, while highlighting the progress made under Otuaro’s administration.

He expressed gratitude to the Administrator for his remarkable efforts in addressing long-standing issues that had affected beneficiaries for years, many of which were inherited from previous administrations. “These issues persisted for a very long time before the current Administrator took charge”, Ibena stated.

Ibena conveyed the Ex-agitators Forum’s stance on the October 1st planned protest against bad governance, and assured that there will be no protests in the Niger Delta. He emphasised that while the region has, over the years, expressed grievances through numerous protests, the current administration is well aware of the needs and concerns of the people.

“We trust that the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with Chief Dr Dennis Otuaro as the PAP Boss and an integral part of the administration, will address the issues affecting the Niger Delta. At this point, protests no longer serve a purpose in our region. Our focus should now be on consolidating the gains we have achieved and working together to ensure continued development and progress under this administration.”

He appreciated President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for appointing Otuaro, whom he described as “God Sent”, adding that the beneficiaries have acknowledged the positive changes seen under his leadership, which have brought hope and stability to the region.

“Let us now turn our efforts toward supporting the administration in its drive to meet the needs of our people, rather than resorting to protests, which have already served their purpose in bringing our plight to light. With such leadership, the Niger Delta can look forward to a future of peace, development, and prosperity”, he noted.

Ibena also called on other political leaders in the Niger Delta, particularly those heading ministries, parastatals, and agencies, to emulate Otuaro’s exemplary leadership style and expressed the ex-agitators commitment to peace and stability in the Niger Delta.
