Expect mass defection in Bayelsa PDP, APC declares
The Bayelsa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed that the party is expecting a mass defection from members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
This is coming on the heels of yesterday’s formal defection of a former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode to the ruling party.
The Bayelsa APC believes that many PDP members are disenchanted in the state and are already in talks with its leadership to effect their move.
Secretary of the APC caretaker extraordinary committee of the state, Alabo Martins disclosed this on Friday while speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa, the state capital.
According to Martins, “the defection of Femi Fani-Kayode, a once vocal voice from the PDP, shows the dynamism of politics and how most opposition members have wrongly criticized APC in the past.
“We are not joking when we say PDP will soon go into extinction in Nigeria.
“Here in Bayelsa, the mass defection will soon start because the current administration has not done any significant thing to change the fortunes of the people except their usual promises and excuses.
“There are many PDP members who are in talks with us, and they will soon leave the sinking PDP for us to take Bayelsa to the next level.”
The APC scribe argued that despite the huge allocations accruing to the state coffers, the Douye Diri-led government has been unable to commission far-reaching projects since inception.
“Since assumption of office, the self-styled prosperity government has failed to improve the living standard of the people.
