Fake Lawyer Busted During Cross Examination In Port Harcourt Court, Remanded In Police Custody
A Port Harcourt high court has remanded Stanley Epini Ejiroghene Adjogbe, said to be a fake lawyer who has been practicing in Port Harcourt for over ten years, in police custody.
Our correspondent reports that his arrest followed his inability to convince the court that he was a lawyer. Also, He could not tell the court which law school and year he graduated as well when he was called to the bar. He also failed to prove the University he attended as a law student. after the defense team in the criminal matter also tendered reports from the Supreme Court of Nigeria and the National leadership of NBA disowning the identity of Mr. Stanley Epini Ejiroghene Adjogbe as a genuine legal practitioner in the country.
The suspected Lawyer was remanded following the request by the chairman of NBA Port Harcourt branch, Prince Nyekwere that the suspect may escape if he is allowed to go.
Subsequently, Justice C. Nwogu issued an order for his arrest for impersonation. Justice C. Nwogu in his ruling directed the Policeman from the office of the Commissioner of Police Rivers State to take custody of the suspected fake lawyer pending the outcome of their investigation.
The was a Prosecution Witness to the prosecution team in a criminal matter wherein he reportedly wrote a petition against one Anorld Bassey before his cover was allegedly exposed today during cross-examination when he failed to answer questions bothering on his genuine identity s as a legal practitioner correctly.
