Fani-Kayode reacts to Nigerians being maltreated in China
TRACKING___Critic, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to reports of Nigerians being maltreated and thrown out of Chinese Hotels in the midst of Coronavirus outbreak.
There have been reports that Nigerians were being maltreated and thrown out of their hotels in Guangzhou China.
Nigerians in China who had travelled there for business purposes a few days before the federal government announced a lockdown are accusing Chinese authorities of maltreatment, just as they said the Nigerian government did not care about their plight.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nigerians in Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, had called on Nigerians thrown out of their hotels in Guangzhou China, to report themselves to the Nigerian Consulate in the Asian country for proper documentation and further actions.
Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode lamented and questioned why the Federal Government should even allow Chinese doctors into the country in the first instance.
“Whilst Buhari is inviting the Chinese to Nigeria to “help fight Covid 19″, the Chinese Govt. is throwing Nigerians out of their homes, persecuting them, subjecting them to the most vile & despicable human rights abuses & mocking, insulting & humiliating them on a daily basis,” Fani-Kayode decried.
Also, Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, reacting to the development on twitter said “This Nigerian diplomat in China should just return to Nigeria and take up any political office he wants.
“I have never seen any political officer holder defend a Nigerian like this.”
