Fashola: Tinubu and Atiku should concentrate on issue-based politics.
By Ibekimi Oriamaja
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has urged the presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, to refocus on issues affecting ordinary Nigerians rather than their recent unwarranted brawls.
He informed them that issue-based politics are preferred by Nigerians.
According to Atiku, Tinubu lied to him when he denied lobbying to be his running mate in the 2007 presidential election.
Tinubu, on the other hand, claims Atiku has lost touch with reality.
Last week, Atiku made the accusation, which sparked a debate between the two candidates. Tinubu replied that he had never lobbied for it and that Atiku had instead offered it to him.
On Channels Television’s ‘Sunday Politics’ yesterday, the minister stated that Nigerians are more concerned with how to achieve prosperity and issues that concern them, such as security, education, and the economy.
